This is a 4-week series that introduces the core basics of Salsa dancing (On2 / NY style) for people who are completely new to Salsa. In each class we review the basic steps, timing, positioning, technique, & musicality with different instruments for Salsa social dancing. In addition to the basic step, we cover 3 of the core partner-work moves in Salsa social dancing.

This course is aimed at complete beginners, no dance experience needed! But if someone already dances other styles of Salsa and would like to learn the fundamentals of Linear Salsa On2, this class is also for you.

PRACTICE MAKES BETTER

*There is a free 30 minute open practice session from 12:00pm-12:30pm to practice Salsa dancing with your partner, other students, and/or our instructors in addition to this class.

FAQ

I don't know anything about Salsa or dance in general, is that ok?

Absolutely! The Intro to Salsa class is for people who have no Salsa/dance experience whatsoever! It's also for people who might want to learn the Salsa On2 style from scratch!

I don't have a partner, is that ok?

Yes that's completely okay! While we do have couples that sign up together, it's not required because we do frequent partner changes, including partner changes with our instructors.

What style of Salsa do you teach?

We teach On2 Salsa, one of the most popular styles of Salsa social dancing.

Do I have to register for the full series?

No, we recommend you do, however you can come to the classes you are available for if you cannot commit to the full series.

How do I register for a Drop-In?

Select the date you are available to come and select the Drop-In class pass option, once you have the available pass you can register for the class.

Do you have other levels of Salsa in Niagara Region?

Yes we do! We have a Level 2 Beginner class from 11am-12pm. But please contact us to see if that level is for you! Email us [email protected] or DM us on Social Media (Avantedance).
