Afro-Cuban Elegua
This class explores Elegua's lore, steps, body movement & rhythms w/ none other than professor of traditional Cuban dance @Sarita Leyva.
Elegua is the most danced Orisha in the Afro-cuban Yoruba dances. In the Yoruba pantheon, Elegua is the opener of ways, and he is one of the foundational Orishas. His dance repertoire has many rhythms, including the unique La Lumbanche rhythm that is only danced by Elegua. Other Elegua rhythms include La Topa, Nyongo & Chachalokafun. Many of the steps in these rhythms feature heavily in modern Salsa shines, especially "Afro-Mambo" shines.
