Cuban son is an elegant Cuban dance that's danced in contratiempo (stepped on the 2,3,4/ 6,7,8) timing and which had a huge influence on all modern Latin dances. Cuban Son is the progenitor of many modern Latin dances including Casino, Mambo, Chachacha, and finally Salsa.
